1. Is MetaPower a software company or a consulting company?

MetaPower is both! MetaPower believes that software needs to serve the needs of the business, not vice-versa. Without understanding the business, software can do more harm than good. MetaPower currently holds patent 6,768,984 as the basis for its UCoDA product. Additional patents are pending.

UCoDA is MetaPower's tool for implementing Business Processes. Business Process Management (BPM) calls for continuous business process improvement on an enterprises basis. UCoDA is implemented as an Internet application so it can be easily deployed across the entire enterprise. UCoDA supports any and all business process which makes it simple to expand as the enterprise grows. Existing UCoDA-supported processes can be reconfigured (without modifying the core software) at any time to support business innovation and improvements.

UCoDA is a web-based software package that utilizes Microsoft Internet Explorer® 6.0+ and either Oracle® or Microsoft SQL Server® database. UCoDA is based on MetaPower's patents which provides the flexibility and auditablity that BPM requires. UCoDA is a "process engine". UCoDA provides personal access to each individual's process responsibilities. UCoDA provides a way to deploy Business Process Data in a consistent, flexible and expandable way. 9. What maintenance and support is available?

MetaPower provides software maintenance support for the UCoDA software and provides consulting support for the configuration of business processes. MetaPower also continues to improve and expand the capabilities of UCoDA and provides upgrade releases as needed. MetaPower consultants provide process re-engineering and custom configuration and implementation of UCoDA to meet any process need.

10. How can I arrange a demonstration of UCoDA?

MetaPower can demonstrate a pre-configured process using UCoDA on MetaPower's servers. All that is needed for an on-site demonstration is a Windows-compatible workstation with Microsoft Internet Explorer® 6.0 (or greater) connected to the internet. Contact Sales to arrange for a demonstration.

11. Can I implement and delpoy UCoDA on my own or does it require professional services?

UCoDA is client configurable using the Work Bench. UCoDA comes with rules and documentation for configuring Oracle® and Microsoft SQL Server® databases. The Work Bench provides the facility to change and modify the application without making code changes to the software. Configuring UCoDA has been automated and instructions are provided to guide you through the use of the Work Bench to configure UCoDA.

MetaPower is typically retained to take the lead in configuring the first applications. You can choose to assume the responsibility for future applications. MetaPower is always available to assist.

13. How do I get started with BPM?

Managing business processes (BPM) requires understanding the pocess and the requirements of the business process. The process design is essential to implementation. You can use existing process designs and automate them using UCoDA or you can develop a process design using MetaPower's Process Design Methodology. Another approach is to start with one of the pre-configured processes and then expand the process under BPM control.

Metapower's founders have an extensive background in the power industry (both Fossil, Hydro, and Nuclear). Process Design concept and UCoDA were developed based on many client engagements in these industries. They have subsequently been validated in a variety of other industries ranging from transportation, to communication, to petro-chemical, to banking, and government facilties.
